Received: Revised: Accepted: 2013–12–09 2013–12–16 2013–12–17 The present investigation was undertaken to study the prevalence of visceral gout and haemato– biochemical alterations in the gout affected broilers. The overall prevalence of visceral gout from different farms was found to be 21.47%. Out of total cases of visceral gout recorded (332 birds), 74.09% were found during winter season i.e. from November to February as compared to summer (21.38 %) i.e. from March to June, followed by monsoon season (4.51%) i.e. from July to October. . Of the susceptible age (first three weeks), the highest autopsy incidences (62.34%) was recorded during the second week of age, followed by 24.09% in third week and 12.65% in first week of age, while incidence of 0.9% was observed in birds of more than three weeks of age.. Haematological results showed increase in total erythrocyte count (TEC), total leukocyte count (TLC) and haemoglobin (Hb) concentration. There was significant (P≤0.05) increase in the level of uric acid in gout positive birds. Significant (P≤0.05) increase in serum amino transferase, alkaline phosphatases and albumin were also found in natural case of gout positive birds. Alteration in haemato-biochemical profiles of rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss affected by Saprolegnia spp- A potential constraint for culture of trout in Kashmir Himalaya
Haemato-biochemical studies in rainbow trout infected with Saprolegnia were carried out under temperate climatic conditions of Kashmir valley to find out the variation in blood parameters. The trial was carried out on 405 cultured rainbow trout fish ranging in length from 47.8 to 69.8 cm and in weight from 1300 to 1920 g. The same experiment was carried out on 2,70000.00 trout fish eggs from No...

متن کاملPrevalence and Haemato-Biochemical Studies of Gastro-intestinal Parasites of Indian Elephants (Elephas maximus)
Faecal samples were collected from 40 Indian elephants (Elephas maximus) revealed 62.5 percent parasitic prevalence. Amongst the single infection of parasites, high prevalence of Fasciolias spp. (15.00 %) was observed followed by percent prevalence of mixed infection. Elephants harbouring parasites were found clinically dull, depressed and lethargic. About 48 percent elephants manifested dehydr...
متن کاملBiochemical profiling of microbes inhibiting Silver nanoparticles using symbiotic organisms
Silver nanoparticle therapeutics using symbiotic organisms can offer solutions to the current obstacles in antimicrobial therapies, because of cost-effective and eco-friendly properties over chemical and physical methods. In this study, we aim to synthesize silver nanoparticles using lichen (Parmotrema tinctorum) extract and evaluation of its antibacterial properties. Synthesized silve...

Frequent dosing of the potent anti-androgen, flutamide, is necessary to reach a therapeutic level for the treatment of prostatic carcinoma. Sustained delivery of the drug could reduce the adverse effects such as gastrointestinal disorders and improve patient compliance. In the present study sustained-release matrix tablets of flutamide were prepared by direct compression method using different ...
